Gewoon vrouw

The expression Powerwoman makes something special of women that have a good job or are successful in business, an exception to the rule. It is a commercialised expression that is used to show a certain amount of success, a ribbon for the elite woman that you earn if you fulfil certain unrealistic standards. Even though the expression is well-meant, it still causes a division between women. If you are not a Powerwoman, are you just a women then?

To graduate, I did research about the effect of the expression Powerwoman on other woman. And made a campaign to counter the unrealistic standards for women. The main goal of this campaign is to make women aware of the expression power woman and to confront them with the negative sides of it. We should stop using Powerwoman and see that just being a woman is enough.
